CRC overview

CRC-32 is the classic checksum used in ZIP archives, Ethernet frames, and countless embedded systems. CRC-32C (Castagnoli) offers better error detection and powers modern storage protocols. Both are available here with a single click.

Common polynomial lengths:

  • 9 bits (CRC-8)
  • 17 bits (CRC-16)
  • 33 bits (CRC-32)
  • 65 bits (CRC-64)

Every calculation runs locally in your browser—the data never leaves this tab.
